Substance addiction, including prescription medication and alcohol, is a complex issue and requires a detox before BWRT treatment can take place.
Opioids: Prescription painkillers like oxycodone, hydrocodone, and fentanyl are commonly abused. They are initially prescribed for pain relief but can lead to dependency and addiction.
Benzodiazepines: Drugs like Diazepam, temazepam, nitrazepam are prescribed for anxiety and insomnia but can be highly addictive when misused.
Other Prescription Drugs: Muscle relaxants and certain types of antidepressants can also be subject to abuse.
Polysubstance Abuse: People addicted to prescription medications often use them in conjunction with other substances like alcohol, increasing health risks.
